Terms of service
Last updated
By using Vrittara you agree to what follows. If you are using it on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may agree on its behalf, and “you” means that organisation.
Getting access
Access is currently by invitation from our waitlist. Joining the waitlist does not entitle you to an invitation, and we may decline one without giving a reason. You must be at least 16, and able to enter a contract.
The service, and what it cannot promise
Vrittara indexes repositories and documents you connect, and answers questions about them. Answers are generated by third-party language models from evidence we retrieved.
They can be wrong. A model can misread evidence, and retrieval can miss a record that would have changed the answer. Every claim is cited, so check the ones that matter. Do not rely on a Vrittara answer as the sole basis for a decision with legal, financial, security, or safety consequences without verifying the cited source yourself.
Beta
Vrittara is in private beta. Features may change or be withdrawn, and interruptions and defects are likelier than in a mature product. We do not offer a service level agreement during beta.
Your content
Your workspaces, documents, and connected code remain yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, index it, and send relevant excerpts to the configured AI provider when you ask a question. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the right to connect what you connect. Do not bring us repositories you are not entitled to read, and do not upload personal data you have no lawful basis to share. Commit history routinely contains other people's names and email addresses.
Third-party services
Using Vrittara means using GitHub, your AI providers, and our infrastructure providers. Their terms govern their part. If you supply your own provider keys, those requests are between you and that provider, billed to your account; you are responsible for that usage and its cost. If you let a connected assistant answer on your behalf, that is your own model access being spent, with your approval.
Acceptable use
- Do not connect repositories you have no right to access.
- Do not use the service to break the law or someone else's systems.
- Do not attempt to circumvent plan limits, rate limits, the waitlist, or another account's access controls.
- Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute the service, or use it to build a competing product from our output.
- Do not upload malware, or content that is unlawful for you to hold.
Plans and billing
Paid plans bill monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access in place until the period you have paid for ends. Plan limits are listed on the pricing page. Prices exclude VAT or sales tax unless stated otherwise, and we may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
Except where the law gives you a refund right, payments are non-refundable. Some accounts are granted a paid plan at no charge at our discretion; we may end such an arrangement at any time with notice.
Our intellectual property
The service, its software, and its branding are ours and stay ours. Nothing here transfers any of it to you beyond the right to use the service while these terms are in force.
Feedback
If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely and without obligation. You keep whatever rights you already had in them.
Availability, warranties, and liability
The service is provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, or lost or corrupted data, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred pounds sterling.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Indemnity
If you are using Vrittara as a business, you will cover us against claims arising from content you connected without the right to do so, or from your breach of these terms.
Ending it
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, and will say why when we do, except where saying so would itself cause harm. On termination your right to use the service ends and your content is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Changes
Material changes to these terms will be announced by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service afterwards means accepting the revised terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and delete your account.
